{"id":3956,"date":"2017-02-21T04:19:21","date_gmt":"2017-02-21T04:19:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/shakespeareargentina.org\/?p=3956\/"},"modified":"2021-05-20T16:12:24","modified_gmt":"2021-05-20T16:12:24","slug":"a-special-tribute-to-shakespeare-in-buenos-aires","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shakespeareargentina.org\/en\/a-special-tribute-to-shakespeare-in-buenos-aires\/","title":{"rendered":"A special Tribute to Shakespeare 400 in Buenos Aires"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"cb-itemprop\" itemprop=\"reviewBody\"><p>On November 4th 2016 FSA organised together with Argentine-British Community Council (ABCC) a significant Tribute to Shakespeare at the Rose Garden of &#8220;Tres de Febrero&#8221; Park, which was endorsed by the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires and the Nation\u2019s Ministry of Culture.<\/p>\n<p>Main speakers of the event were Mr. Mark Kent, Ambassador of the UK ,\u00a0Mr. John Hunter, President of ABCC, Dr. Mercedes de la Torre, President of FSA, Dr. Cristina Vi\u00f1uela of Fundaci\u00f3n Sur (created by Argentine writer Victoria Ocampo in 1962) and Mrs. Chantril relative to the late President of the British Community who donated Shakespeare\u00b4s bust in 1964, the President of the Culture Committee at the House of Representatives of Buenos Aires City Council, Mr. Omar Abboud and Mr. Sebasti\u00e1n Noejovich representing the National Minister of Culture, Pablo Avelluto and Mr. Dennis Horan enthusiast Shakespearean scholar. Actor &amp; artistic director, Mr. Walter Acosta performed a selection of Shakespeare&#8217;s famous soliloques so did Primary and Secondary pupils from &#8220;Colegio R\u00edo de la Plata&#8221;. It was a memorable, warm and sunny \u00a0morning in Buenos Aires, all around Shakespeare&#8217;s monument at the poet\u00b4s corner surrounded by a most colourful sea of
