Related works \u2014 the opera Otello by Rossini, the parody Caliche, and the comedy Shakespeare enamorado \u2014 contributed to consolidating this success and benefiting from it from 1820 onwards. The four texts collected here are preceded by an introduction to the facts and problems that surrounded them and the sociocultural phenomenon in which they intervened, as well as complementary notes in this regard. The edition closes with the corresponding bibliography and a list of Spanish translations and adaptations of Shakespeare&#8217;s Othello from 1802 to 2018.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c1ngel Luis Pujante: Emeritus Professor of English Philology (University of Murcia). He was principal researcher of the project <em>La presencia de Shakespeare en la cultura espa\u00f1ola y europea.<\/em> He is the author of Shakespeare llega a Espa\u00f1a (2019) and co-editor of Romeo y Julieta en Espa\u00f1a (2017).<\/p>\n<p>Keith Gregor: Professor of English Philology (University of Murcia).
