We share and appreciate the warm message of congratulations for the tenth anniversary of our institution from Professor Charles Ney at Texas State University, author of  Directing Shakespeare in America: Current Practices and Historical Perspectives.

Amigos queridos,

Congratulations to FSA on their 10th anniversary. I have known Mercedes and Carlos for many years through their participation in the Shakespeare Theatre Association. Their work is well respected internationally. They make an important contribution to the people of Argentina,  spreading cutting edge information about Shakespeare and production.

In September 2018, FSA invited me to come to Buenos Aires to give talks on my research on Directing Shakespeare in America.  I had preconceptions about Argentina and Buenos Aires, most of which were not accurate. It was the trip of a lifetime.  Not only did I learn first hand about Shakespeare in Buenos Aires, I also was introduced to the local theatre scene – one that is on a par with London and New York.  I was so impressed by the quality of the work.  I will never forget my time there and look forward to returning to see firsthand what FSA is doing.

Warm wishes for another 10 years.

Charles Ney
