Shakespeare behind prison bars: Theater, prison and society

On September 30th 2014 FSA together with Departamento de Ciencias Sociales and Sociedad Argentina de Sociología Jurídica organised an international event at the blue Hall of the Law School in Buenos Aires called “Shakespeare Behind Bars: Theatre, Prison and Society”.

A teleconference at the School of Law of the University of Buenos Aires was held, which included the participation of Curt Tofteland (Founder and Director of Shakespeare Behind Bars, USA), Tom Magill (Director of Educational Shakespeare Company, Ireland) and Rob Pensalfini (Director of Shakespeare Prison Project, Australia), where they shared their experiences working with convicts and how Shakespeare can give words to emotions and help working through issues of guilt, responsibility and forgiveness.
